Mrs, Edwena Lanier, MSW

Edwena Lanier is a mother, wife, mentor, social worker, and published author who has always had a passion for advocacy. With over fifteen years of experience working in the education system in various roles, Edwena discovered what truly fueled her passion: mentorship.

What began as an after-school girls’ mentoring program soon grew into something much greater. The mentees developed a strong bond with one another and yearned for more opportunities to connect beyond the school day. Recognizing their need for continued growth, support, and sisterhood, Edwena brought their vision to life through the program’s annual Winter Workshop Series.

For years, Edwena dedicated herself to leading and nurturing the program, creating a safe and empowering space where girls could grow, learn, and thrive. As the program continued to evolve, she welcomed Lead Mentor Na’Shay Hooks and Program Manager Noelle Torres to the team. Their dedication, support, and commitment have been instrumental in sustaining the program and helping it continue to flourish.

Together, they remain committed to empowering young girls through mentorship, meaningful connections, and opportunities that inspire confidence, personal growth, and leadership.
